What Is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive hypnotherapy is a collection of some of the best forms of therapy. It draws from the work of Milton Ericson, Bandler & Grinder, Evolutionary Psychology, Gestalt and more.
Cognitive hypnotherapy is different from other forms of Hypnotherapy in that it does not believe in the depth of trance having any real relevance or effect on the success of the therapy. We all go into natural hypnotic trances every day without even realising that we do so. It’s similar to being so absorbed in a book or film that the hours seem to fly by. It is this completely natural state of mind that is used in cognitive hypnotherapy.

What Happens In A Session?
During a session you will be in a relaxed and calm environment. We will talk about the issues that you have, what you hope to gain and perhaps try to find the root cause of the problem so that we can seek to control the issue. Try to think of me as your guide through your subconscious. Your first session will last for approx 1.5 hrs and if after half an hour you/we decide that Cognitive Hypnotherapy will not be suitable for you, you are welcome to leave with no charge. If we decide that it will be suitable for you the following sessions will run for an hour and the session will be charged at the normal hourly rate.
Before my therapy with Rob I was lacking in motivation to get off my backside and do anything, other than sitting there talking about doing stuff. During the session Rob made me feel relaxed and comfortable. When he talks you into a more relaxed state and you listen to his talking I found that this was very useful and he is able to make it very appropriate to you. Very clever but simple and effective. After the session I felt motivated and as though a weight had been lifted, although didn’t realise I had one.
